Canada establishes dedicated "Fundraising Events Centre"
The PwC Canada Foundation has recently launched the "Fundraising Events Centre". The Centre is designed to support the many Canadian staff and partners who participate in charitable fundraising. The Centre allows PwC people to:
- Join an existing volunteer team
- Encourage family and friends to join in charitable efforts
- Receive PwC team T-shirts
- Post fundraising tallies
- Post and share photos of the event
Recently, the Vancouver office made good use of the Fundraising Events Centre in connection with the "2008 Walk with the Dragon" event, which supports the S.U.C.C.E.S.S Foundation—an organisation dedicated to integrating newcomers to Canada. Over 90 PwC partners, staff, friends and family participated in the 2008 walk—raising over $8,200 and winning the gold award for team pledge collections. Similarly, the Toronto office utilised the Centre during its participation in the "Becel Ride for Heart". Nearly 70 PwC participants raised over $17,000 while cycling or skating along two of Toronto’s major highways in support of The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
