"Operation Snowball" warms South Africa
Through its "Operation Snowball" program, PwC South Africa is helping to clothe the needy. During this year’s effort the national office donated clothes and blankets to the Central Methodist Church in Johannesburg and Noah’s Ark After-School Centre for needy children in Yeoville. Ms. Gloria, founder of Noah’s Ark extended her appreciation of PwC, stating: "The clothes are very much appreciated, with winter colds and the kids sleeping in the shacks, this will surely make a world of difference".
Across other parts of the country members of the Polokwane office donated boxes of clothing to the Polokwane Children and Family Society; and subsidised the cost of blankets donated to the Jacaranda FM Winter Warmer 2008 project. The Port Elizabeth office made donations of clothing and blankets to the Maranatha Centre, which provides assistance to street children and abused women.
