The 2006 flight international aerospace top 100 features 23 pages of insight into the aerospace & defence industry. This year's report continues to be compiled by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and includes comprehensive analysis of the aerospace top 100 marketplace.

This report has been compiled by Neil Hampson, strategy partner in the UK Valuation & Strategy team with support from Aerospace analysts Felicien Dillard and Mladen Grabovac and written by Flight International magazine.

Key findings

  • The industry reported continued helathy growth in revenues and operating profits during 2005.
  • Prime contractors and their Tier 1 partners are returning solid profits, whilst not all Tier 2 and 3 suppliers are turning increased sales into higher earnings.
  • Better performers have shown their ability to sustain margins over the period
  • Private equity is still strong in the sector
