A survey of independent UK-based funds which raise capital from third party investors

This year's BVCA private equity and venture capital performance measurement survey 2006 demonstrates beyond doubt that private equity investment works. It works for the investors, the majority of which are pension funds, and it works for the hundreds of companies and their stakeholders that receive the investment. This survey is the most comprehensive and detailed of its kind in the world. Full member firms of the BVCA all of which are committed to open reporting, gave their full support and co-operation in supplying the data for this research. And what the study shows with complete clarity is the reason for the industry's success - consistently excellent investment performance.

The UK's burgeoning international private equity business, as represented by BVCA members, remains committed to channeling investment capital to wherever it most effectively benefits all stakeholders. The industry is also committed to operating within the social, economic, legal and fiscal parameters determined by governments around the world.
