As we reflect on the financial year ending in June 2023, we find ourselves in a landscape marked by continued economic pressures – think high inflation, rising interest rates, and ongoing geopolitical turbulence. It's been a year where our clients have turned to us once more, seeking our support. They've come to us with short-term challenges and the need for long-term strategies and transformation.
I want to take a moment to highlight our amazing teams, our community of solvers, who've shown agility and a strong commitment to our clients, all while embodying the values of our global strategy, the New Equation.
As a leading multi-disciplinary professional services business, our commitment to learning from our own experiences is fundamental to our growth and our client-centric approach. Throughout this year, we've continued to prioritise the development of our capabilities. We've invested further in new offerings, including ESG, Risk, Regulatory and Compliance, and Digital Services. At the same time, we've remained committed to our foundational business areas, such as Assurance and Tax.
The removal of Covid-related restrictions, just before the start of the financial year, provided us, as thought leaders, with an opportunity to get closer to the business community by organising a number of events and conferences. These events have centered around crucial topics that impact businesses, their strategies, their people, and their stakeholders. We're proud to have hosted our first Tech Week, a series of events featuring our multidisciplinary experts and technology alliance partners. We've also held our first Financial Crime Conference, along with our well-known VAT Conference. These events were complemented by sector-focused ones, addressing specific challenges our clients face. And let's not forget our regular publication of thought leadership, Short Reads, sharing the latest insights and market developments with our contacts.
Looking ahead, one of our firm's primary objectives will remain unchanged: to provide comprehensive support and sustainable solutions that deliver maximum value to our clients.
