Malaysian public-listed companies are faring well in environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors among their ASEAN peers based on leading ESG indicators including disclosure and commitments to sustainability practices. 

'Positioning Corporate Malaysia for a sustainable future', a research publication released by PwC Malaysia and Capital Markets Malaysia highlights that the capital market is in a unique position to drive meaningful change in sustainability practices among corporates. The publication explores efforts made by the government and regulatory bodies in Malaysia in laying the foundation to catalyse action by businesses. It emphasises the need for partnerships and conversations by all stakeholders to enable a just transition, and shines a light on how investors can be involved in the ESG movement.
