Mike Bynoe

Mike joined Coopers and Lybrand in the United Kingdom thirty six years ago and returned to Barbados in 1990. Since then he has specialised in the audit of both domestic and offshore insurance companies. Mike has acted as the engagement  leader on a number of our largest clients and for many years he led the Firm’s financial services group. He also was previously the Firm’s risk and quality partner and a member of the ITS Management Committee. In 2014 he was appointed as Territory Leader for the Eastern Caribbean.  Mike retired from this role at the end of June 2022 but continues to service a portfolio of financial services clients. 

Mike has extensive knowledge of accounting for insurance and reinsurance contracts in accordance with the current IFRS framework and he is keenly interested in deepening his knowledge of IFRS 17. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados
