Matthew Britten

Matt Britten serves as a partner in PwC Bermuda’s assurance practice. He is the leader of the Bermuda firm’s Risk Assurance Services practice, providing internal audit, trust and transparency, process assurance, IT and regulatory risk services to clients. As a result of his significant controls experience, Matt is also responsible for an external assurance team focusing upon clients that are SEC-listed and/or require integrated audits. 

Having served insurance and reinsurance companies in both an assurance and advisory capacity for over 24 years, Matt brings extensive experience and knowledge of the property & casualty industry from a business, operations and accounting perspective. In his role as leader of PwC Bermuda’s Risk Assurance Services practice, Matt is responsible for ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the IT audit support work the firm provides through ensuring that the team develops a comprehensive understanding of an organization’s strategic objectives, risk profile, and the diverse needs of critical stakeholders.

Additionally, as a significant portion of his career has also included working at PwC in New York and London, Matt also has broad experience working with global companies in Bermuda, Europe and the United States, and he has managed a number of large-scale global projects involving multi-disciplinary teams. Across these projects, Matt has served clients in a variety of areas ranging from; external audit to accounting technical, operations transformation to outsourcing, and internal audit effectiveness to regulatory compliance.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of both the Chartered Professional Accountants of Bermuda and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
