We look for talent, not backgrounds

Developing yourself

At PwC, we are committed to helping people develop market-leading expertise relevant to their position, their clients and PwC’s vision, values and strategy.

Our development approach is centred on three principles, which put you in the driver’s seat. You have the ability to work closely with your coach to make your career goals a reality by having regular coaching conversations, setting the wheels in motion and keeping track of your progress.

.

10% Formal Learning

We utilise more traditional ways of learning, such classes or online courses to foster your core skills and technical expertise

.

20% Learning from others

Apart from learning by doing, we provide our employees with coaching. Your coach is the person who guides you along your career path and provides feedback and support when needed. This is important to us because we value person conatct and the power of role models.

.

70% Learning by Doing

We believe that the most effective way to learn is by being on the job, even if you are doing it for the first time. Unlike university classes, we offer a deep dive into challenging business cases with real clients while working in different teams and industries. It is a great opportunity to develop your core business and personal skills with the support of your coach and team members.

.

The PwC Professional

The PwC Professional is a single set of expectations across our organisation that outlines the attributes and behaviours our people need to build trust, gain a better understanding of our clients’ challenges and needs, and provide valuable and effective solutions.

Based on the five leadership attributes of the PwC Professional, our development approach gives people the skills to deliver the highest technical abilities, enhance their credibility, and forge and sustain high-quality professional relationships. Through frequent, informal feedback, every employee can maximise their strengths, fill in the gaps and guide their learning in real-time throughout the year.

Qualifications you can obtain

At PwC, we make sure that your education does not stop once you have joined the firm. In fact, joining is only the beginning!

Joining Audit

As a new joiner in Assurance, you will embark on a journey towards obtaining and maintaining local statutory qualifications, as well as the globally recognised ACCA accounting qualification. Spanning 14 exams in areas ranging from audit, tax and law to business analysis, corporate finance and strategic management, receiving an ACCA qualification is as comprehensive as it is prestigious.

At the end of your journey, which takes approximately four years, you will be a member of the largest international accounting body, therefore certifying your outstanding theoretical and practical skills in a modern business environment.

We support you fully throughout your work, providing you also with the opportunity to attend state-of-the-art internal training courses with around 40 hours of training per year being a best-in-class combination of classroom, elearning and blended learning. This thoughtful integration of online and face to face elements provides flexibility and personalisation, uses a creative mix of technology and creates a complex learning experience. You will be guided by some of the most experienced tutors in their fields, each of whom has been carefully selected for their professionalism and years of experience. All of these will contribute to build on your knowledge and experiences to date and further develop your technical knowledge and related skills.

Joining Tax

In Tax and Legal services, we focus on developing you as tax professionals and trusted tax consultants from the very beginning of your career. Your journey starts with PwC’s Central and Eastern European Tax Academy. This is a flexible 2-3 year-long in-house tax consultancy training programme. Once you finish, you are officially a qualified tax consultant, having mastered all the relevant technical and business skills required to operate in the market as a leading tax consultant. Combined with the four years of practical experience, there will be a clear distinction between you and your colleagues in other firms.

The Tax Academy programme is managed by a large team of internal and external tutors and Learning & Development specialists, and it operates in more than 20 countries in Central and Eastern Europe with more than 500 students. There is also a wide variety of fully online courses available to you.

Besides the internal tax qualifications, we fully support you during your obtaining of relevant local tax advisor qualifications, as well as membership in local tax communities.

Joining Advisory

By joining Advisory, you will be presented with a diverse choice of learning opportunities, and your development journey will depend on the specifics of your business unit (e.g. TICE, Technology, Data Analytics, Forensics, M&A, Financial Services and People and Change). Some of these options are offered locally, while others are provided abroad.

The Advisory University (AU) has been running since 2006 and it is a key platform for delivering learning across Advisory. It takes place four times a year in one of PwC’s European firms, training an average of 1,800 employees over the course of the calendar year. Each AU lasts one week and offers a comprehensive range of courses that primarily focus on the technical Deals and Consulting core curriculum, meeting a wide spectrum of Advisory-relevant learning needs. Apart from learning, AU is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from other territories, share knowledge, build relationships and do better business.

Depending on your grade, you will also be offered three types of soft skills courses developed at the CEE level under the supervision of the CEE Advisory leader:

Advisory consultant, which is a five-day business simulation for consultants and managers that focuses on project management, team interaction, presentation and facilitation skills, and building relationships with different types of clients and team members. You will be trained and coached by more senior colleagues through the use of lots of practical examples, as well as through diverse and intensive feedback.

Experienced workshop, which is a one-day event for Senior Managers that focuses on the best ways to convey messages (both oral and written) to your clients. You will be trained by experienced Strategy& colleagues.

Growing C-suit relationships, which is a two-day programme for directors and partners who want to enhance their C-suite relations with top clients. The training has lots of useful frameworks and tools, as well as practical tasks, and it is led by CEE senior partners and experienced L&D facilitators.

Some of you will receive professional qualifications like your Assurance colleagues (e.g. ACCA, CIMA and CFA, among others). The choice of available and relevant professional qualifications is specific to every territory and every business unit based on their particular needs.
