Director, Tax & Legal, PwC Greece
Kely is a financial law practitioner with robust transactional experience in cross-border deals and investments. She joined the Greek firm’s Tax and Legal team in 2021 from a top tier Athens law firm where she worked as a banking & finance partner, acting for credit institutions, funds, investment firms and large corporates in some of the market’s most transformative deals.
For over a decade, her practice has focused on structured finance and debt finance: she holds an impressive track record in securitisations in an array of asset classes and products (including large scale NPL-deleveraging projects both in HAPS and non-HAPS structures), and in debt instrument issuances - high yield bonds, covered bonds, ESG/sustainability linked instruments and other structured debt products. She has been involved in equity and debt offerings launched from major Greek market players, including in international counsel capacity during her time with a prominent US law firm; she also has a solid background in project, real estate and other asset financing projects, such as PPPs, RES and PFI deals.
Prior to joining the firm, Kely was actively involved in a number of groundbreaking transactions such as the first ever NPL securitisation and the first securitisations under the Hercules scheme. She has an academic background in comparative taxation and has implemented bank recovery and resolution legislation well prior to the introduction of the BRRD.
