Introducing PwC's Global Disability Inclusion Leader

Transcript

Disability Inclusion at PwC

Leandro Camilo, Partner, PwC Brazil and Global Disability Inclusion leader “Hello, my name is Leandro Camilo. I am a partner in Brazil and PwC's Global Disability Inclusion Leader. Disability Inclusion is a critical dimension in our Network Inclusion First Strategy. To elevate this important work, we have developed and are excited to launch our first formal Global Disability Inclusion Strategy.

We have a clear vision for the future. We want to foster an environment where people with disabilities are included, feel empowered to be themselves and have the support they need to thrive. Our aim is to drive action both internally at PwC and externally, to improve the lives of people living with disabilities and those that care for them. Let's hear from our people about why disability inclusion is important to them, and the positive change we are hoping to achieve together.”

Focusing on Disability Inclusion

Mariya Ali, Manager, PwC Middle East “Disability Inclusion is important to me because I want to live in a world where I can be open about my non-visible disability. I want to be valued for who I am and not judged for what I have.”

Rob Rusch, Director, PwC US “Disability Inclusion is important to me because it opens a world of possibilities for people like me. I have a severe neuromuscular disability called spinal muscular atrophy that requires I use a wheelchair to get around. At PwC, I've developed as a leader, I've been able to have a substantial impact on my clients and my community.”

Ayesha Bedwei, Partner, PwC Africa “Disability Inclusion is important to me because growing up with my younger sister who has cerebral palsy, I understood the importance of feeling that your contribution and what you have to offer is important and has a role in society.”

Mohammed Asif Iqbal, Senior Manager, PwC India “I lost all my eyesight at the age of 16 years old due to a genetic disorder.”

Vladyslava Kravchenko, Manager, PwC UK “At the age of 17, I became a wheelchair user following an accident. This was life-changing, but it didn't stop me from achieving my goals in competitive sport and building a professional career.”

Creating positive change together

Ayesha Bedwei, Partner, PwC Africa “I hope our new strategy will increase awareness around the gifts and talents that people with disabilities have to offer.”

Rob Rusch, Director, PwC US “I hope our new strategy will help to develop people with disabilities and improve representation at all levels, including senior leadership. Promoting leaders with disabilities is critical to combating stigma and encouraging open conversations.”

Vladyslava Kravchenko, Manager, PwC UK“I hope our new strategy will raise awareness and increase opportunities for people with disabilities at PwC, helping them realise their full potential.”

Mohammed Asif Iqbal, Senior Manager, PwC India  “I hope our new strategy will help build a culture where people at PwC openly feel comfortable talking about disability.”

Mariya Ali, Manager, PwC Middle East “I hope our new strategy will enable people to appreciate and celebrate the many advantages of neurodiversity. All minds are different and our disability gives us a unique perspective and unlocks our creativity.”
