Matt is a sought-after advisor on technology, data and AI, regularly speaking at industry conferences and engaging with boards and has been invited by executive offices in the UK and US to share insights on applied AI, responsible AI use, and policy.
Before joining PwC, Matt served as the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Amazon Web Services (AWS) for nearly 15 years. At AWS, he specialised in data, analytics, machine learning, and AI, and was instrumental in launching over 100 cloud services, including Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, Kinesis, and EMR. His work also covered solutions in cybersecurity, quantum computing, and robotics.
Matt holds a PhD in Machine Learning and attended medical school at the University of Nottingham. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, focusing on natural language processing and bioinformatics.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys great food, music, and relaxing in mountain cabins—often all at once!
