October 24, 2022

PwC has been named as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Asia/Pacific Professional Security Services 2022 Vendor Assessment (October 2022, IDC #AP49101123).

According to the report ‘The last couple of years have been far from ordinary for both cybersecurity and business in general. As the world battles the anticipation of a recession, ongoing geopolitical instability, inflation, and the current COVID-19 health crisis, organizations in Asia/Pacific continue to manoeuvre complex IT and cyber environments while defending against an increasingly modernized threat landscape. The COVID-19 pandemic has permanently changed how business is done, and cyberthreat actors have adapted to these changes, tailoring their tactics to the new reality.’

Commenting on PwC’s strengths, the IDC MarketScape states, ‘PwC continues to maintain its position as a leader in the Asia/Pacific cyber-consulting and advisory market by providing embedded security services reinforced with reliable threat intelligence.’

It also says that, ‘According to customer feedback, PwC’s security professionals have displayed deep technical and subject matter expertise in their consulting and assessment capabilities. Besides technical competency, the vendor’s extensive knowledge and expertise in risk management and controls, including industry-specific regulations, market, and business-centric thinking, stands out. PwC uses a risk-based approach in developing outcome-driven strategies that support growth by aligning security goals with business objectives.’

The report continues by stating, ‘Another of PwC’s strengths lies with its ability to think globally and deliver locally. In adopting such an approach, customers can leverage PwC’s global expertise while also ensuring cultural fit to cultivate strong client relationships and experiences, resulting in customer trust and a strong sense of assurance in partnering with the vendor.’

Sean Joyce, Partner, Global Cybersecurity and Privacy Leader, PwC US, says ‘Congratulations to Siva and our Asia Pacific team for this well-deserved recognition. Organisations and senior leadership are recognizing that cyber risk exposure is increasing.  And while more than 70% of clients and organisations observed improvements in their cybersecurity posture over the past year — thanks to cumulative investments and C-suite collaboration, there is still more work to be done.’
