London, 11 October 2021 – PwC has appointed Agnieszka Gajewska as Global Leader of its Government & Public Services (G&PS) practice.
Agnieszka is a Partner in PwC Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) based in Warsaw, leading the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) platform for 29 territories in CEE. Over the past years, she also has been leading the Public Sector & Infrastructure practice in CEE. Within her roles she has worked globally supporting governments, international institutions and the private sector in the origination and implementation of projects to achieve sustainable growth in over 40 countries.
For the last 20 years, Agnieszka has advised on public sector transformation, structural reforms, digitisation and ESG (with a focus on climate change). She has been driving large scale client engagements globally, including advisory framework contracts for multilateral institutions including the European Commission, World Bank, European Investment Bank and United Nations Development Programme.
In the global G&PS role, Agnieszka will lead a practice of more than 12,000 professionals worldwide. She will help support clients in local, regional, national and global government and public service entities across a wide range of areas, including defense, security, digital government, education, international development, cities and local government, social services and public finance.
Agnieszka is committed to further strengthen G&PS capabilities - establishing global Centers of Excellence and enhancing collaboration within the PwC network. This is to bring our clients and partnerships a unique value proposition: combining leading international expertise and insights with deep understanding of the local context.
Agnieszka Gajewska, PwC's Global Government and Public Services Leader, comments: “I am truly privileged to lead our G&PS community of more than 12,000 passionate people, especially now, in such exciting times that offer so many opportunities and require out-of-the box thinking. I am a great supporter of building back better as economies and communities recover from the COVID-19 crisis.
As a firm present in 156 countries, we are very well positioned to support our public sector clients to address the critical challenges of a century, address the climate crisis and build a more equitable society while still generating growth.
I have a strong sense of responsibility for people and our planet, and I truly believe that working together, with our talents, clients, partners and communities, we can bring a prosperous and more sustainable future to the next generations.”
Kevin Burrowes, PwC’s Global Clients and Industries Leader, comments: “In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have the opportunity to make a real impact on society by helping governments and public organisations deal with the challenges the pandemic has brought. As a firm, we are committed to help our clients build trust and deliver sustained outcomes for their organisation, their stakeholders, and society at large. Agnieszka brings to this role hands-on experience working with public sector clients in the CEE region and across the globe on their most pressing issues - and making an impact. And as the new Global G&PS leader she will challenge herself and our global network to continue PwC’s purpose of building trust in society as we solve our clients’ important problems.”
