Leaders Solving for Tomorrow

Working together to solve the world’s most important problems

It’s never been a more difficult time to be a leader. Powerful Megatrends—from climate change and technological disruption to demographic shifts and a fracturing world—are exacerbating the social challenges the world faces, making it difficult for societies to come together and fight for positive change.

The imperative to act is clear. CEOs expect more pressure over the next three years than they experienced over the previous five. And 45% believe their companies will no longer be viable in ten years if they continue on their current path according to PwC's CEO Survey 2024.

We need to work together to find new ways to create value and growth, because no person, business or industry can tackle these interconnected crises alone.

PwC’s award-winning Leaders Solving for Tomorrow programme gives senior leaders the opportunity to develop their transformative leadership capabilities. Bringing together a diverse range of thinkers over seven weeks, we make sense of the Megatrends that are shaping our future.

Leaders emerge with a new perspective on these challenges — and a stronger belief in their ability to overcome them.

Leaders solving for tomorrow

It’s never been a more difficult time to be a leader. Watch this short video to see how by working together to find new ways to create value and growth.

Our world is transforming. Governments, organisations, and individuals are under pressure like never before.

We are facing a series of acute crises – more numerous and more severe every year <use pictures from different categories to show what they are>
… and at the same time the Megatrends pose existential threats mid-to-long term:

  • Climate change affects all regions around the world and destroys lives and livelihoods
  • Technological disruption enables huge value creation, but harmful consequences are increasingly difficult to mitigate
  • Demographic shifts put enormous strain on social systems and creates a shortage of workers in some regions and skyrocketing unemployment in others
  • The world is fracturing, leading to more conflicts and countries increasingly prioritising their national resilience
  • And finally, Social instability is pulling us apart at a time when we need to come together to address these massive challenges.

What should organisations do to survive and thrive in this disruptive environment?

They need to recognise that today’s crises are caused by the Megatrends, and therefore address the short-term and the long-term together.

They

  • need to repair their business in light of the many crises they are confronting now,
  • They need to rethink where the world is headed mid-to-long term and how the Megatrends impact them,
  • They need to understand how the Megatrends require us to reconfigure the huge ecosystems that deliver almost everything humanity does
  • And they need to reinvent themselves to be relevant in these reconfigured ecosystems and thrive in the future

To succeed at this massive agenda we need transformative leaders. Leaders who reimagine their organisation’s place in the world and transform to live up to a more ambitious purpose.

The time to transform is now.
The time to step up is now.
