New director appointments at PwC Hungary

PwC Hungary is proud to announce the appointment of several new directors from 1 September 2022.

The new directors are Roland Balogh, Dóra Dósa, Péter Heronyányi, Mónika Mazán-Kovács, Lilla Rados, Nikoletta Riczu and Ádám Székely in Assurance, and Detre Horváth, Kornél Szeőcs and Eszter Turcsik in Tax and Legal Services. In Business and Technology Advisory, the new appointees are Zoltán Kun, Péter Lajtai, András Lengyel and Zoltán Réczey; in Internal Firm Services, Borbála Palotai (Marketing & Communications), Krisztina Holczinger (CEE Risk Management), and Gábor Bojtos (CEE Treasury).

Balogh Roland

Roland Balogh (37) joined PwC Hungary’s accounting and capital markets advisory team in 2012. He is primarily responsible for consolidation and structuring services and leads PwC’s Future of Finance team. Since 2019, he has also hosted the CFO conference, which presents the results of our CFO survey. He holds a degree in economics, with a specialisation in finance and accounting, from the University of Miskolc. He is a chartered accountant, an IFRS certified accountant, and holds ACCA (FCCA) and DipIFR qualifications.

Gábor Bojtos (46) joined PwC Hungary in 2006. In his current position, he serves as Treasury Leader for CEE. He graduated from the Budapest Business School specialising in banks and financial institutions. He also completed an MBA in a joint program by the University of Rochester and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He is also an IFRS certified accountant and a registered SAP consultant.

Bojtos Gábor
Dósa Dóra

Dóra Dósa (41) joined PwC Hungary in 2005. She currently leads the Controls Assurance team of the Risk Assurance practice. She is mainly responsible for auditing the IT systems of the firm’s audit clients and reviewing the automation of their business processes. She also has extensive experience in the SOX control environment. Dóra earned her business degree from Corvinus University of Budapest and holds a CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) qualification.

Péter Heronyányi (37) joined PwC Hungary’s accounting advisory function in 2015, where he currently leads the treasury advisory and financial sector advisory practice. He supports the audit teams in auditing special IFRS and Hungarian accounting areas and is head of one of the business development programmes at PwC Hungary. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pécs, specialising in corporate finance and accounting. He is also an IFRS certified accountant and a registered statutory auditor, with DipIFR and ACCA (FCCA) qualifications.

Dr. Holczinger Krisztina

Dr. Krisztina Holczinger (48) joined PwC Hungary in 1998 and is currently one of the leaders of the CEE Risk Management team. She studied law at Pázmány Péter Catholic University and later obtained a degree in EU law from the same university.

Detre Horváth (36) joined PwC Hungary’s Tax and Legal Services practice in 2019. He currently works in state aid and tax consulting, mainly dealing with cash subsidies and domestic income tax planning. His main areas of expertise are R&D, investment incentives, ESG subsidies and European Commission notification procedures. His clients are mainly international manufacturing firms, multinational companies in the technology industry, and domestic SMEs. He holds a degree in economics, with a specialisation in accounting and business valuation, from the Faculty of Economics of Corvinus University of Budapest. He is also a tax expert, a chartered accountant, and an IFRS certified accountant.

Horváth Detre
Kun Zoltán

Zoltán Kun (45) joined PwC Hungary in 2022 to lead the Transaction Services team within the Advisory practice. In his current role, he and his team primarily perform buyer-side financial due diligence on behalf of foreign and domestic investors, while supporting sellers with vendor due diligence services. He graduated in economics from Corvinus University of Budapest, with a major in finance and a minor in business valuation; he also holds a CEMS diploma and has completed ACCA training.

Péter Lajtai (38) joined PwC Hungary in 2011. In his current role, he leads the Finance & Enterprise Analytics team of the firm’s Advisory practice, where he focuses on improving data-driven business processes, helping finance leaders to modernise and digitise their operations. He is also responsible for PwC Hungary’s drone consulting services and the partnership with Microsoft. Péter obtained a degree in economics from Corvinus University of Budapest, with a specialisation in management and organisation. He also holds ITIL and PMP qualifications.

Lengyel András

András Lengyel (43) joined PwC Hungary in 2014. He is responsible for energy and utilities consulting, which includes traditional energy (electricity, natural gas, oil, district heating) as well as other utilities (waste management, water). He is also involved in renewable energy, energy efficiency, electric transport and other alternative powertrains, smart grid solutions, circular economy, hydrogen economy, and the energy and environmental aspects of ESG. András obtained a degree in economics from Corvinus University of Budapest, with a specialisation in management and organisation. Later, he also completed a specialisation in law at Eötvös Loránd University.

Mónika Mazán-Kovács (48) joined PwC Hungary in 1998. She currently leads audits for energy, automotive and SSC clients. She has extensive experience in auditing under US GAAP, the SOX control environment and PCAOB auditing standards. Since October 2020, she has also been responsible for overseeing internal and external compliance activities. Mónika obtained a degree in economics from Széchenyi István College with a specialisation in accounting, and holds a Master’s degree in marketing and tourism from Janus Pannonius University. She is a chartered accountant with an FCCA qualification. She has been a registered statutory auditor since 2010, with investment firm, insurance, issuer and IFRS qualifications.

Mazán-Kovács Mónika
Palotai Borbála

Borbála Palotai (47) joined PwC Hungary in 2010 as a knowledge manager. She currently leads the firm’s fifteen-member Marketing, Communications and Business Development team. She obtained a degree in Spanish language and literature from the Faculty of Humanities and a degree in sociology from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University. Later, she studied management and organisation at Corvinus University of Budapest, and service design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design.

Lilla Rados (43) joined PwC Hungary’s Risk Assurance Services practice in 2020, where she develops the CFO services area, which provides practical financial management and controlling expertise and resources. She also supports CFOs on their digital transformation journey as part of the firm’s Future of Finance programme. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the Budapest Business School, specialising in stock exchange and financial institutions, and a Bachelor’s degree in international management from Hogeschool Brabant. She then earned a Master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pécs. She is a chartered accountant and a certified coach and trainer.

Rados Lilla
Réczey Zoltán

Zoltán Réczey (48) joined PwC Hungary in 2015. Currently, he leads the valuation team within Deals, where he specialises in business valuation, business planning, validation, feasibility studies, financing advisory and other financial consulting tasks. Zoltán holds a degree in economics from Corvinus University of Budapest, with a specialisation in finance.

Nikoletta Riczu (40) joined PwC Hungary in 2005. In recent years, she has been leading the audit of mainly SSC clients in the TICE team. In addition, she has significant experience in SOX control environment audits. Nikoletta graduated from the University of Debrecen with a degree in economics, specialising in finance and accounting. She holds FCCA and chartered accountant qualifications and is also an IFRS certified accountant.

Székely Ádám

Ádám Székely (31) joined PwC Hungary in 2012. He works in the Assurance practice, where he audits companies in the FMCG, SSC and pharmaceutical industries in accordance with IFRS and the Hungarian Accounting Act. In addition, she has significant experience in SOX control environment audits. In recent years he has also assisted audit teams at regional level in complex IFRS accounting matters. Ádám obtained his business degree from Corvinus University of Budapest; he has an FCCA qualification, and he is a Hungarian and IFRS certified accountant.

Kornél Szeőcs (37) joined PwC Hungary’s Indirect Tax team in 2010, where he provides VAT advisory services to Hungarian and international clients related to individual transactions or international structuring. As a member of the Smart Tax team, he also supports the development and sale of tax automation software and is responsible for e-invoicing and e-archiving consulting, helping clients with regulatory issues and practical information. He is also the main coordinator of ESG consulting within Tax and Legal Services. He holds a law degree from Pázmány Péter Catholic University and a postgraduate degree in European and international tax law from Eötvös Loránd University. He is also a qualified tax advisor.

Szeőcs Kornél
Turcsik Eszter

Eszter Turcsik (42) joined PwC Hungary in 2006. In her current role, she is mainly involved in international tax consulting projects related to direct taxation. Her client base mainly comprises multinational companies, whom she supports in corporate tax matters related to reorganisations in Hungary and cross-border transactions. She holds a law degree from Károli Gáspár Reformed University. She is also a qualified tax advisor.
