Before joining PwC, Szabolcs spent more than 20 years at the National Tax and Customs Authority, where he actively participated in several digitisation programmes as an economist and IT expert. As the technical lead of the Online Invoice project, he was involved in the development of invoice data reporting. He is also a qualified tax consultant, focusing on e-commerce, e-invoicing, and the digitalisation of taxation. He has authored several articles on these subjects and is a regular speaker at tax conferences.
In his new position, building on his experience at NAV, he will be assisting companies in complying with the latest international regulations and in developing the necessary automated tax systems. His responsibilities include supporting financial service providers in reporting cross-border payment transactions to national tax authorities, which will be mandatory for all stakeholders from 2024. He will also help companies make a smooth transition to and prepare for the e-VAT system starting next year.
