PwC, Business Day and AREWA24 have formed a collaborative partnership to bring ‘My Family, My Business’ to television.
This collaboration extends the reach of ‘My Family, My Business’, a newspaper column, to television audiences across Northern Nigeria and West Africa. Viewers can now also follow the weekly insights from the column by watching the breakfast show, ‘Gari Ya Waye,’ on DSTV, GOTv, and Startimes.
Speaking on the collaboration, Esiri Agbeyi, Partner and Africa Family Business Leader, said:
“We are delighted to have ArewaTV with us on this very laudable initiative. When we started the ‘My Family, My Business’ page in collaboration with BusinessDay last November, our desire was to provide leading insights that will assist family businesses in Nigeria to solve the challenges they face, while positioning themselves for sustainable success beyond their founders.
“We are glad that we can now adapt these insights from the pages of the newspaper to the television screen, reaching a large audience of thriving family businesses across northern Nigeria and beyond who may not have been availed of such information, otherwise.
“It is particularly exciting for us that we can bring this knowledge to them in Hausa language, riding on a platform that they are already familiar with and trust. This aligns with our purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems and we are thrilled by the possibilities the future of this collaboration holds.”
Also speaking, Frank Aigbogun, Business Day’s Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, noted that
‘‘As a leading provider of business intelligence, we saw the need to create a platform to support business leaders by providing insights to enable good decision-making.
“Families remain a critical part of society and the legacy built with flourishing businesses shows the essence of bonding, a basis for entrepreneurship and economic development. We are delighted with this collaboration, and we look forward to the knowledge and capacity-building it will bring to our readers and listeners.”
AREWA24’s Head of Studio Productions, Aisha Lawal, said:
“We are proud to be working in partnership with PwC and BusinessDay in bringing ‘My Family My Business’ as part of our Breakfast Show, ‘Gari Ya Waye,’ to our television audiences across Northern Nigeria and West Africa.
“Family businesses have long been a mainstay of our Northern Nigerian marketplace and sharing the valuable expertise of PwC’s family business practice along with the journalistic integrity of BusinessDay is of tremendous benefit for our viewers.”
