LAGOS, 21 March 2025 – PwC Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to driving societal impact through its annual 5for5 Charity drive, donating ₦9 million to five charities focused on health, education, and social inclusion. This initiative, now in its eighth year, aligns with PwC Africa’s Societal purpose and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Representatives from PwC visited the beneficiary organisations in Lagos and Abuja to make the donations and engage with the charities on their work and impact. According to a statement from the leading professional services firm, the charities were nominated and voted for by PwC staff. The donations were funded by voluntary contributions from both staff and partners.
Commenting on the initiative, Obioma Ubah, Corporate Responsibility Partner at PwC Nigeria, said: “For the past eight years, 5for5 has allowed us to support impactful charities that align with our key societal purpose focus areas. This year’s beneficiaries are dedicated to improving health, education, and social inclusion in Nigeria. We recognise the importance of these causes, and through the collective effort of our people, we are supporting these organisations that continue to make a meaningful difference in our communities.”
Among the 2024 recipients of the PwC 5for5 Charity drive are Advocates for Health and Rights of Women and Youths Initiative (ADHERI), Cerebral Palsy Centre, Akoka Study Centre, and Patrick Stephen Purple Heart Foundation for Widows, all in Lagos; and Darlez Care Orphanage Home, in Abuja.
During the visits, PwC representatives engaged with the beneficiaries to better understand their work and explore avenues for continued collaboration. Each charity received ₦1.8 million and committed to continuing their vital work, including advocating for women’s rights, providing specialised care for children with cerebral palsy, supporting young men’s academic and moral growth, providing shelter for widows, and caring for orphaned children.
The 5for5 Charity donation is part of PwC’s commitment to building trust and creating a sustainable impact in society.
