Our firm, with the Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) launched the Developmental Social Enterprise Awards DSEA 2016 to members of the media last 24 February 2016 at the Ilustrado Restaurant in Intramuros, Manila.
Chairman and Senior Partner Alex Cabrera (in photo, third from left) welcomed the media while Benita & Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF) Chairman Tony Yap (second from left) briefed them on what a Developmental Social Enterprise is.
On its second year, the DSE Awards continues its search for Filipino businesses committed to social objectives through its enterprise activities. These businesses embody the values of citizenship, sustainability and social responsibility and put central importance on human dignity.
Atty. Cabrera said, “We want to recognize entrepreneurs who use business as a tool to improve society. Social enterprise is a step for inclusive growth.”
For his part, Mr. Yap said “Winning this award is not just about money, but the affirmation that business is worth of expansion and replication.”
Joining them were Assurance Partner and Corporate Responsibility Leader Gina Detera (in photo, far right) and Assurance and Markets Director Allan Cao (far left) during the Q&A. Gina capped the activity with the message on how social enterprises help achieve inclusive growth and solve important problems, and eventually becoming part of the change that everybody wants for the country.
Nominate a social enterprise now
We are looking for social enterprises in the Philippines with the following criteria:
Nomination period is open until 12 May 2016. Simply download the form from, and submit at, the DSEA website. Judges from various sectors such as the academe, social enterprise sector, government, private business and media will select the finalists and top winner.
The awards ceremony will be on July 2016.
