Alex Cabrera talks business continuity in PDRF webinar

PwC Philippines Chairman Emeritus and ESG Leader Alex B. Cabrera was one of the guest speakers at the Business Continuity Planning: Environmental Scanning Session hosted by the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) on 20 January 2023. The session aimed to discuss the significance of business continuity for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Alex presented key findings and insights from PwC’s 26th Annual Global CEO Survey. He explained that most CEOs are worried about economic viability and are looking to transform their organizations for the future. He then shared the different ways CEOs are transforming their business. These include upskilling their workforce, automating processes and systems and deploying technology. 

Alex also discussed the key threats that businesses face such as inflation, geopolitical conflict, climate change and cyber risks. He then emphasized that all businesses, including MSMEs, are vulnerable to these threats. He concluded the session by emphasizing the importance of the dual imperative: balancing execution of short-term profitability and long-term transformation.
