In San Luis, Aurora, during the 2022 Philippine Elections, the youth stoked the fires of nationalism. There are some who think that the young shouldn’t be involved in socio-political issues, but wasn’t it Jose Rizal who said that the youth is the hope of our future?
“It sparked a sense of nationalism that I never felt before” - Shane Millares, the woman in the photo.
This kind of activity in the days of pandemic is truly an eye-opener. These youngsters knocked not just on the doors of households but upon the heart of every person they talked to. While the campaign coincided with a political agenda, it also demonstrated that even young ones can make things happen once they find something they believe in.
