‘Papa-paint brush’

Papa-paint brush : Our Values Photo Story (Pandemic edition)

To teach one’s child is to discover oneself

I took this photo one early morning before starting my tutoring class with my neighbor’s daughter in Mindoro.

This pandemic really took a lot from us, especially from children. They can’t spend time with their friends, for one thing. But what I realize is that this lockdown gave us something quite special. We can spend more time with our family.

Bree’s father noticed that Bree was longing to step outdoors, so he decided to bond with her through art. He prepared crayons, color paints, a canvas and a paintbrush. He started teaching Bree how to hold a brush and to paint her favorite place—the beach. The two hit it off, painting and giggling just like kids sharing stories with their playmates.

In the end, Art makes up for many things we miss outside our homes.
