Mentoring students – Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

Four of our colleagues (Adrián Prna, Lucia Korbélyiová, Jana Grošeková and Oľga Matejová) became mentors to eight secondary school students in the 2022/2023 school year. They helped students from 1.Private Gymnasium Bajkalska in Bratislava and Gymnasium St. Edita Steinova in Košice select activities, set goals, and provided coaching on how on to achieve their goals. They provided extensive support as motivators, friends, and consultants.

PwC Slovakia has been supporting the Leaders of Tomorrow (the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) International Award Project focused on further personal development of young people) for seven years. At PwC, we believe that every individual has potential. We recognize the value of young people in companies and in communities and we want to contribute to their development. 

For PwC employees, it is an opportunity to improve our soft skills, mentoring and communication, learn how to motivate others, introduce our profession to young people, show them the world of a consulting firm, and meet new people of different ages. We are proud that a PwC mentor helped student Michal Kajan win the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
