Bratislava, 1 June 2023 – Two new lawyers will join PwC Legal’s office at PwC in Slovakia. On 1 June, Mr Michal Pališin will join as a Director and Mr Ondrej Šuriak as a Senior Manager.
In his previous legal practise, Michal Pališin focussed on legal consultancy on regulatory matters, primarily relating to financial services, telecommunications, energy, economic competition and state aid, personal data protection, compliance, and EU law. He led several investigations and due diligence of entities in regulated fields and has extensive experience in representing clients before state administration bodies. He participated in some of the most significant M&A transactions on the Slovak market. He worked in the Bratislava branch office of the White & Case international law firm for more than 16 years, 3 years of which was as a local partner. He has been a lawyer since 2006, and is registered at the Slovak Bar Association. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and from Ghent University, Belgium.

Ondrej Šuriak has many years of experience in corporate law of commercial companies, including lawsuit agenda regarding taxes, management of mergers, acquisitions, and other business combinations, restructuring of companies with more than 100 employees, and civil law matters. He worked at VDG, an audit and consulting firm, from 2014, first as an internal lawyer and later as a cooperating lawyer. He is a member of the Slovak Bar Association and meets the conditions for registration in the list of trustees in bankruptcy. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava, where he defended his doctoral thesis Acquisition from the perspective of Slovak law.
