Customs suspensions are a tool that allows EU producers to import goods from third countries without paying import duties, or pay duties at a reduced tariff rate. Suspensions can be obtained based on an application for a definite period (e.g. 2 years). They apply to goods that will subsequently be used in production within the EU.
