Fit for 55

Fit for 55 is a European Commission legislative package intended to reduce GHG emissions by 2030 by a minimum of 55% compared to 1990 and achieve climate (carbon) neutrality by 2050. This legislative package incorporates several initiatives, including the reform of the European Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, increasing the renewable energy share, increasing energy efficiency, establishing the social climate fund, etc. Its adoption is expected in the second half of 2022.
