Solvency II

Solvency II is a regulatory framework for insurance companies and other insurance providers operating in the EU. It was introduced in 2016 and replaced the Solvency I framework.

The Solvency II framework requires insurance companies to hold enough capital to cover potential losses and risks, and ensure they have appropriate risk management systems in place. This is intended to provide greater protection for policyholders and improve the stability of the insurance industry.

SII calculations

Under Solvency II, insurance companies are required to calculate their risk-based capital requirements, which take into account factors such as the type of business they write, the risks they face, and the quality of their risk management systems. We help our clients with Solvency II calculations by providing them with accurate data and analytical tools to help them make informed decisions. We also provide them with actuarial advice and guidance to ensure they are compliant with Solvency II regulations.

SII documentations preparation and review

Documentation is an important part of the Solvency II framework, as it helps insurance companies demonstrate compliance with the regulations and provide transparency to regulators.

Under Solvency II, insurance companies are required to maintain comprehensive documentation of their risk management systems, including policies and procedures, risk assessment methodologies, and internal control systems. This documentation must be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure it remains relevant and effective.

We help our clients with Solvency II documentation review by providing a detailed analysis of their financial data and risk management practices. We can also provide advice on improving their processes and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements. We also provide guidance on how to best present financial information in Solvency II documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

QRTs

We help our clients with QRTs in Solvency II reporting by providing independent assessments of clients’ compliance with SII regulations. We also provide preparation and independent review of Solvency and Financial Condition Reports (SFCR), Regular Supervisory Reports (RSR) and QRTs. In addition, we provide Pillar 3 training, including company-specific training on QRTs.
