The European Union is preparing for the most comprehensive reform of the European Customs Union since its inception. These ambitious plans include forming new partnerships with businesses, adopting a more efficient approach to customs inspections, advancing e-commerce, and conducting a comprehensive review of the Union Customs Code (UCC).
One of the elements of the reform will be the transformation of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status into the Trust and Check (T&C) status for traders.
The T&C status is a significant innovation in EU customs legislation and will have substantial implications for businesses.
Vita Miroshnychenko, Head of the Customs and International Trade practice at PwC Ukraine shared her expert opinion with Delo.Ua on these changes, elaborating on the differences between T&C and AEO, and highlighting the new opportunities that the T&C status will bring, enabling businesses to prepare for this transition in advance.
