The EU abolished duties and quotas on Ukrainian goods

09/06/22

The EU has temporarily lifted trade restrictions on the goods from Ukrainian producers.

To support Ukrainian exporters in the EU, Regulation 2022/870 of 30 May 2022 on the opening of the European market for goods originating from Ukraine was adopted.

Starting from 4 June 2022, the tariff restrictions provided in the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement have been suspended, in particular:

  • import duty on industrial products
  • application of the entry price system for fruits and vegetables
  • all tariff quotas for agricultural products
  • antidumping duties
  • global safeguards actions against Ukrainian goods.

The new rules will be valid for the period of one year. However, the European Commission reserves the right to further impose duties in the event of injury to the products of  European producers.
