We engage with qualified suppliers including seeking opportunities for diverse suppliers and small businesses to complete in our RFP pipeline, helping them build capacity and thrive in our unique marketplace. The impact our firm has when we award a contract to a certified diverse supplier extends to the underrepresented communities in which it operates, helping to create economic opportunities and ultimately develop stronger, more inclusive and prosperous communities.
Relationships are important. We’ve started with the most straightforward steps to increase our investment in the growth and development of diverse businesses through education and roundtable discussions. In addition, we paired our leaders with diverse businesses focused on the supplier's objectives, but now we are leveling up our efforts.
That's why we launched a mentoring program with underrepresented suppliers we would like to work with. We work alongside these organizations to help identify potential areas for growth, connect them with resources and facilitate introductions with our people to help foster relationships critical to delivering success.
Through collaboration, we are determined to build on our progress. We actively engage with external organizations and national councils that work to influence broad change in support of supplier diversity:
See our Supplier Diversity Statement for additional information on certifications we require.
In parallel with efforts to spend more with diverse suppliers, we remain focused on helping our supplier network operate in a sustainable way. Just as we are engaging stakeholders throughout our supply chain to help them meet the needs of working with a large organization like PwC, we are also working with them to reduce their emissions. This work is critical, as our large supplier network spans the globe and has wide-reaching impacts that far exceed the impact of our own operations.
PwC's dedication to diversity and inclusion has earned widespread recognition. This recognition is an opportunity to help measure our progress and assess how we can continue to advance against our aspirations.
The Best of the Best designation honors corporations for their commitment to America’s diverse employees and business owners, which includes LGBTQ+ people, racially/ethnically diverse, women and people with disabilities.
