Driving societal equity through the power of giving

We live our purpose, build trust and foster equity when we address the issues that impact our communities. Through giving, whether it’s our dollars, skills or other resources, our people further demonstrate that together, we can drive sustainable change.

Through our collective efforts, we are making a profound impact

Since 2001, the PwC Charitable Foundation has invested over $200 million to support access to education, community resilience and other causes our employees are passionate about. Through the Reimagine grants program, the Foundation helps amplify the work of organizations nominated by PwC leaders. Since 2018, the program has awarded over $43 million to 800+ organizations in our communities

Recognizing the passion of our employees to drive meaningful societal progress, we provide 40 paid/utilized hours each year through Skills for Society for skills-based volunteering. In FY23, our employees invested over 340,000 hours to help address the challenges faced by community organizations.

Our people are acting on their purpose to make a difference

Many of our employees are deeply driven by their desire to help advance progress and use their unique talents to foster stronger, more equitable communities. CeCe Jacob, Trust Solutions manager, has been a dedicated supporter of an organization that uses soccer as a vehicle for social change. Through PwC's matching pledges and the Reimagine Scopeathon, CeCe has doubled the impact of funds raised for the organization. CeCe said, "Giving takes different forms for different people at different stages of life. Sometimes, giving time is the most reasonable and effective way to support, while during busier times, giving funds may be more feasible."

Then there is Christy Conner, Products & Technology senior associate, who played a key role in establishing an initiative at a Florida university to support women as they prepare to enter the workforce. Christy and her team worked with the university to provide female students with the tools they’ll need to help them thrive after college, impacting over 150 students in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Orlando this year. Christy explains, "When we bring our authentic selves to work, we build relationships based on trust. These relationships, combined with the resources at PwC, offer endless opportunities to positively impact those around us."

Camila Negret, Business Services director, has dedicated her time to an organization empowering Latino/Hispanic learners in Northeast Ohio. Through Reimagine Grants and volunteering, she has raised over $100,000 for the organization. “All of us have a unique skillset and perspective that we can bring to any situation to make a difference. No donation nor action is too big or too small,” Camila said. “You’ll find that the positive impact you make on the communities you serve will impact you just the same,” she added.

Our people are also living our culture of care through their giving efforts

Alexander Thiede-Lueders, Consulting Solutions manager, initiated an annual crowdfunding campaign called 'Race for Richard' in 2019 to raise funds for an organization working to improve the quality of life of patients with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma—as well as their families—in honor of a PwC colleague battling Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Through the team's efforts, they have raised over $600,000, contributing to the pursuit of a cure for rare blood cancers. “Directly, as a part of Race for Richard, we have built an extremely wide and diverse network of supporters within and external to PwC, which has been extraordinary,” Alexander added.

At PwC, we believe that every act of giving—no matter how big or small—can make a difference and advance a more equitable and inclusive society.
