At PwC, we’re committed to empowering our community of solvers to put their passion into action and create lasting impact with every contribution. We know there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to giving. That’s why we provide opportunities throughout the year for our people to take action—whether by putting their dollars toward causes meaningful to them or dedicating their time through volunteering.
With over 54% of people at PwC having participated in giving causes this past fiscal year, contributing over $28M in donations across various people-led initiatives—and over 3,500 PwC professionals serving on nonprofit boards—our people are making a real difference in fostering societal equity. We’re proud to support their personal purpose by making giving quick, easy and impactful to help create lasting, positive change in our communities.
Many of our employees are driven by their deep desire to help advance, progress and leverage their passion and skills to foster stronger, more equitable communities.
For instance, Assurance partner Alexis Cunningham participated in PwC’s Pie a Partner event, established in the Boston office for partners to raise awareness and funds around causes that mean the most to them in exchange for being pied in the face for meeting their goal. Her experience raising funding for an organization focused on advancing research around type one diabetes was incredibly meaningful since her daughter’s diagnosis three years ago at the age of six.
Because of my personal connection to this cause, I am genuinely passionate about doing whatever I can to raise awareness and support for the important work that they do. I know my skills may not be suited for clinical research, but what I can bring is my network and advocacy to drive an impact and help me find a purpose in what otherwise could feel like a very hard and challenging circumstance. I also love seeing what causes are near and dear to people individually, and often seeing the commonality that many of us face in other parts of life. It helps me really get to know the people that I work with on a deeper level.
Our people also come together to support causes collectively, one example being the annual fundraiser bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles organized by our unstoppable squad of PwC cyclists and roadie volunteers.
For the past nine years, over 400 PwCers, alumni, clients, family and friends have joined team PwC to embark on an epic 545-mile journey. This endeavor raises funds to provide free HIV/AIDS medical care, testing, and prevention services, while also working toward ending the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS. Through their dedication and fundraising efforts, our team has raised over $2.2M over the years to support this important cause, consistently surpassing records as the top corporate team.
In 2025, Assurance senior associate Breia Dotson will participate in the ride for the first time in honor of her father.
I knew I wanted to help promote awareness and support for people with HIV/AIDS, but I didn’t know where to start. I was also unsure how much time and support I would receive by doing a self-led fundraiser. I learned about the 2025 ride through a co-worker who has participated in the race for many years. It feels great to be part of a team and share encouragement and support to push one another through the finish line.
PwCers also come together in local offices to support meaningful causes in their communities. In our Dallas office, the Staff Council brought back the cherished Partner Chili Cook-Off for the Cure, with proceeds going to an organization that supports low income, uninsured and underinsured individuals with access to breast cancer services.
For Patti Estrada, a Business Services administrator, this cause is close to her heart.
Since being diagnosed with breast cancer, I have been volunteering and raising money to help others fight this terrible disease. The organization is a lifeline for so many women in need, and I’m honored to contribute to its mission.
Dallas Staff Council member and Advisory senior associate Mackenzie Winton appreciates how office events, like the cookoff, help connect her with colleagues and support them to give back to meaningful causes.
PwC’s encouragement to volunteer and support causes that align with my values have profoundly strengthened my connection to the firm’s culture of belonging. Through the Dallas Staff Council, we have successfully organized events like the Partner Chili Cook-off for the Cure and other monthly activities that both foster peer connections and support our community.
For Business Services manager Nicole Chattin, giving initiatives also provide PwCers with an opportunity to have some fun.
I find fulfillment in giving back to the community, and I am particularly excited about organizing the Partner Chili Cookoff for the Cure. With each partner contributing their unique, delicious chili—from Triple Crown Smoke to Tejas Tax Bracket—this is a fun and impactful way to give back and support a meaningful cause.
Through Impact Space, our user-friendly giving platform, we’re making it easy for employees to take action and donate quickly. This human-led, tech-powered approach allows our people to be actively involved in creating lasting change in their communities. Assurance partner Jeff Hemman has experienced firsthand how powerful collective giving can be year-round when our people are empowered through an accessible platform.
The tools that PwC has invested in to make an impact is exceptional. Impact Space has eliminated the paperwork barrier and enables us to have an impact throughout the year. Historically, giving was a focus during October in an annual giving drive. Now with the tools that PwC offers, giving can be a year-round exercise. What I most like about what PwC has done around giving is that it also recognizes that our employees and partners may choose to give outside the firm and be able to track and log that activity in one place so we can collectively see how everyone at PwC is making a difference.
By involving our people in developing new ideas, supporting impactful organizations, and actively participating in our collective efforts, PwCers can make a tangible and meaningful impact on the causes they care about year-round.
For Kisha Greenidge-Kader, a senior manager in Business Services and member of the PwC Foundation Staff Council, PwC supports her involvement in community-focused efforts. With a firm belief that literacy is the foundation of a strong community, Kisha leads a team of dedicated volunteers launching free little libraries across St. Louis for children and adults alike. Each library provides free books to underserved communities, breaking down barriers to book access by offering stories that ignite curiosity and foster a love for reading.
For some people in the community, a book from our library may be the first book they hold in their hands. For others, they may find a story that changes their lives. PwC has empowered me to give back in ways that align with my personal values of community-building, education and empowerment. With the firm’s support, I’ve been able to contribute to impactful initiatives. Through our work with little libraries, our team has supplied over 5,000 books across our community.
We also encourage PwCers to spearhead people-led initiatives year-round that drive impact for our communities and our people in times of need. Year after year, our community of solvers consistently comes together to make a meaningful impact during unexpected challenges.
For instance, when earthquakes struck Turkey and Syria, our people collectively raised $52K through seven crowdfunders, with our Inter-Belief and Pan Asian Community Inclusion Networks playing a pivotal role in raising awareness and donations. Our firm also established a humanitarian aid cause portfolio this past fiscal year that raised $65K from 472 employee donors.
More recently, in the wake of Hurricane Helene that devastated millions across the southeast, our PwC Greensboro office launched a crowdsourcing campaign to support a local North Carolina nonprofit dedicated to providing relief for those affected across the state. Our people contributed over $10K to the cause, making sure supplies could be airdropped to isolated areas that needed help most.
The PwC Foundation also provided over $400,000 in grants directly to PwCers who were personally impacted by the hurricanes.
At PwC, we believe that every act of giving—no matter how big or small—can make a difference and advance a more equitable and inclusive society.
