As the workplace evolves, so does PwC. We recognize the growing role of generative AI (GenAI) and support its responsible use in the application process where appropriate.
We recruit and develop talent based on the PwC Professional framework. To evaluate these qualities, we seek authentic responses directly from candidates rather than responses generated from AI.
We prioritize a trust-centered approach in every area of our business, including the application and interview process, where integrity is paramount. Below, we’ve outlined our guidance for the use of GenAI as a job seeker at the firm.
When should I refrain from using GenAI as a PwC job seeker?
- The use of GenAI during the assessment and interview process is not permitted. We strive for both integrity and equity during the PwC hiring process. As such, it is important that candidates provide information throughout our process that accurately reflects their own unique skills and qualification
- Why? As a professional services firm we use our assessment and live interviews to evaluate the individual skills, experience and dynamic capabilities of our candidates. This includes communication skills, critical thinking, and adaptability outside of your resume and qualifications.
When is the use of GenAI acceptable as a PwC job seeker?
- GenAI tools may be used when researching potential roles within our firm and industries, how you draft your resume, or how you submit your application (e.g. auto-fillers, auto-appliers).
- Please be aware that the use of AI could potentially misrepresent your skills and qualifications.
How can I use AI responsibly during the candidate application process?
- Review AI’s outputs carefully: If candidates choose to use AI tools, they should be sure to thoroughly review the generated content to confirm its accuracy. Candidates should also validate any third-party sources (not all information found on the internet is public domain/available to freely use) and double-check the information to make sure it reflects their qualifications correctly.
- Protect your personal data: Be cautious about sharing personally identifiable information (PII) or sensitive data with AI tools. Your privacy and data security are important to us, so we encourage you to avoid inputting sensitive information into AI platforms.
- What about after my assessment or interview? To maintain the integrity of the hiring process for all candidates, we request that you do not share information from the assessment or interviews. This includes GenAI tools.
- Adhering to ethical guidelines. PwC is committed to a fair and transparent hiring process. You are responsible for making sure any information submitted via your application process is accurate. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of AI to misrepresent your qualifications or create false documents.
