This month, we are excited to share our new Why Accounting flyer that provides professors and career and/or academic advisors with current messaging to help promote the accounting profession. We are highlighting again our new Accountants have impACCT video series as well as an upcoming virtual event for students titled “Where accounting can take you”. We showcase how PwC’s My+ Activators are driving employee engagement to new heights and how My Marketplace is creating connections to improve the staffing process. We spotlight an episode of the Internship Show podcast showcasing how earning a CPA advanced one PwC employee’s career, PwC’s 2024 US Responsible AI survey, and our quarterly sustainability webcast (CPE eligible). We conclude our newsletter with our 2024 Q3 Audit committee newsletter and competing tax policy agendas for the 2024 presidential election.
As part of PwC's multi-year commitment to raise awareness about careers in accounting, we created a flyer to provide professors and career and/or academic advisors with current messaging and supporting details to promote the accounting profession. It is intended to assist individuals counseling students to better understand skill sets and interests that align with the profession, and to articulate the vast array of opportunities. We are highlighting again our new video series launched last month - Accountants have impACCT - which was designed to be easily incorporated into introductory accounting courses. Each 5-minute episode integrates basic accounting concepts with real-world examples, demonstrating their profound impact on business, markets and investors. Topics include: balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, inventory, accruals, cyber security, fraud, ESG, SEC Reporting. As part of our efforts to promote the accounting profession, we are hosting two virtual sessions titled “Where accounting can take you”. We would love for you to encourage your students to join us for the second virtual event, which is scheduled for November 13th from 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM ET. This session aims to provide students with valuable insights into the accounting profession, including what accountants do, as well as the benefits, skills, and value that a career as a CPA can offer. The first session took place on October 15th and was a great success. We are looking forward to an equally engaging and informative session this time around. Students can register for the event here.
