Guillaume Barbier is in charge of our French tax desk in New York. He also leads our French Business Network initiative in the US, a global network of French speaking professionals based in the US and focused on serving French and Francophone companies that seek to expand their business in the US. He joined our New York office in October 2007 from PwC’s associated law firm in Paris, France.
He has extensive experience advising US and international companies on the French tax aspects of various inbound and outbound transactions. He has worked on a variety of domestic and international transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, spinoffs, reorganizations and structured financings. He has regularly counseled financial institutions and investment funds concerning their financial instruments, derivatives and fund structuring, planning and compliance.
Guillaume holds a master of law degree from Duke University School of Law, a master’s in corporate law and taxation from the University of Paris IX-Dauphine, and a master’s in tax and public finance from the University of Paris II-Assas. He is a member of the Paris Bar Association.
