John Mattos is a Partner in the International Tax Services (ITS) group where he has spent a significant amount of his career consulting on the international tax planning areas of subpart F, foreign tax credits and cross border reorganizations. John has expertise in the corporate tax arena and he has also advised on state, local and individual tax issues in the audit defense, planning and compliance areas.
Prior to joining PwC’s International Tax Services group in 1998, John worked for six years in the tax groups of two publicly traded multinational corporations, one of which is a Fortune 500 company. He began his career in a “Big 8” public accounting firm in 1990.
As an associate adjunct professor at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, John instructed the Fundamentals of Corporate Income Tax and Survey of Federal Income tax courses. He is a member of the California State Bar and the International Fiscal Association. John received his M.B.T. from the University of Southern California, his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law and his B.B.A. from Gonzaga University.
