Indoor geolocation platforms are emerging as a powerful tool to address a wide range of critical business requirements.
In this new ISG report which focuses on PwC US’ Indoor Geolocation platform, ISG states, ‘by accurately tagging mapping and monitoring assets within a building, and by enabling the identification and tracking of guests and employees, indoor geolocation systems can streamline operations, increase productivity and enhance guest experience.’
The report states, ‘PwC US’ patented Indoor Geolocation Platform combines sensors, networks, analytics and dashboards to provide a robust and cost-effective solution to Hospitality enterprises. One key benefit is speed of deployment; installations are typically completed in a matter of days. Unlike many other systems, PwC US’ platform requires no beacons or in-room infrastructure. Using existing RF signals, including Wi-Fi networks, to create fixed reference points throughout a facility, customers receive a customized, detailed building map that identifies specific locations such as individual rooms and storage areas without adding any additional infrastructure that would require on-going maintenance.’
It also says that, ‘PwC US’patented Indoor Geolocation Platform uses Wi-Fi and BLE signals to map to reference points throughout a facility (e.g., a particular guestroom), creating a geolocation database that is tailored to the customer’s specific requirements. Scanning a location requires as little as 24 seconds. Following testing for accuracy and alignment with service level agreements, the system goes live. The entire implementation process typically takes one to two days.’
ISG goes on to say, ‘Advantages of PwC US’ Indoor Geolocation Platform include the foundational capability of providing accurate, IoT-based location monitoring throughout an enclosed facility. This provides critical functionality for hospitality businesses and supports a broader range of operational and customer-focused applications.’
ISG writes about PwC’s participation in the recently published ISG Provider Lens - Internet of Things Services and Solutions report where PwC briefed ISG analysts on their Indoor Geolocation Platform. Ranked as a Leader in the IoT report’s Mobile Asset Tracking and Management quadrant, the patented solution is positioned as an easy-to-deploy, flexible approach to locating and tracking assets within enclosed spaces.
