PwC helped implement Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to streamline the company’s global operations. As a result, Teladoc Health unlocked a host of operational efficiencies, including a 20% reduction in accounting entries in its general ledger and a massive reduction in customer invoice processing time, from 5 to 6 hours to just 15 minutes.

What was the challenge?

“Between rapid organic growth and two major acquisitions, Teladoc Health was growing fast, but our legacy technology couldn’t sustain further expansion. We operated via three ERP platforms and dozens of disparate, often manual processes. Our front- and back-office operations were disconnected, and we wanted more visibility into cross-functional operations. We needed a solution that could help standardize our business processes worldwide and continue to deliver the holistic healthcare experiences that patients expect.”

“The beauty of the Oracle Cloud ERP platform is that it provides an integrated data model across our various process areas and gives our team tools to help do their jobs better, faster and easier. It brings tedious legacy manual processes online and incorporates time-saving AI tools like Intelligent Document Recognition to increase efficiency and accuracy. Accounting processes that used to take several hours now take just minutes. Enhanced analytical and operational reporting capabilities give us deeper insights from data, so we can make better strategic decisions. Consolidation of capabilities, including a reduced application footprint, has helped to improve maintenance, licensing and support costs for the organization. Greater transparency between the front and back offices gives us a clearer picture of our customers and their needs. In short, the new platform helps us harness and understand our data to deliver patients the elevated experiences they want.”

Where or how did innovation and unexpected ways of thinking come into play?

“By consolidating our previous systems into a single Oracle Cloud ERP platform and integrating that with a global CRM, we were able to transform our entire enterprise strategy and operating model. The connected system environment helps us better meet our customers where they are and then helps us cross-sell more products and services. This unlocked our ability to scale our annual revenue and sustain future growth. None of that would have been possible without an enterprise-wide commitment to change. PwC was a big help in that regard as well. The firm not only helped us implement the technology to bring our vision to life, but it also supported us in socializing the changes with each new rollout through clear guidance and constant communication.”
