What was the challenge?

“We operated off of a highly customized financial system that was more than 20 years old. This resulted in inefficient processes and data challenges. Our finance team needed more advanced technology. As we explored our options, we took the opportunity to use this tech upgrade for broader advancement and innovation across our finance operations. Our goal was to connect our systems, processes and people and automate where possible to focus on strategic areas of the business that ultimately enable us to better serve USAA Members.”

Describe the solution delivered by the PwC community of solvers?

“PwC helped us establish a multiyear transformation roadmap to migrate to an integrated Oracle Cloud solution, streamline processes and improve controls. PwC established a collaborative process across multiple functional areas to enable a successful outcome. Together, we built a new finance data model that will act as a springboard for our business’s future growth.”

How does the solution blend the strengths of technology and people?

“Cloud technology and people have transformed our finance operations, driving efficiency and delivering value. We implemented Oracle’s Financial Services Risk and Finance solutions, Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Fusion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and Oracle Fusion Analytics Warehouse. By uniting various parts of our finance operations under one cloud, we gave our people more access to our data, insight to help guide their work and automation capabilities to greatly reduce manual, redundant tasks. An enterprise solution enabled by Oracle Cloud technology has unlocked a level of agility and scalability that we couldn’t achieve before. Moreover, the PwC team has helped upskill our people through tailored training.”

Where or how did innovation and unexpected ways of thinking come into play?

“PwC helped us improve on our traditional approaches, as well as introduce new ideas to transform our business. Together, we implemented predictive analytics to anticipate member needs and proactively offer tailored solutions. We also introduced self-service options and digital platforms to enhance user convenience and accessibility. These advancements are helping us stay ahead of the competition and deliver exceptional value to our customers."
