You would have a powerful, cost-effective and inclusive tool for collaboration, learning, engagement and inspiration. You would have, in short, what PwC helped to create for the 2023 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity: a thrilling, scalable and repeatable metaverse experience.

Cannes Lions has long been an opportunity for PwC to engage with the creative community and deepen relationships. For 2023’s festival, we expanded our presence and reach into the metaverse. Our Cannes metaverse experience allowed our clients, prospects and employees to learn from celebrated speakers and from each other. Visitors experienced replays of PwC’s in-person sessions, interacted freely with others, and attended live sessions about the metaverse itself. There were opportunities for fun too: casual strolls along the virtual French Riviera, virtual speedboat rides and an art gallery featuring works from PwC’s creative talent.
Our Cannes metaverse activation welcomed visitors from 16 countries and in various senior leadership roles, with most returning for two or more visits. After Cannes Lions ended, this unique virtual experience continued to welcome visitors for another month. Although the experience is now closed, the space remains available to be repurposed for other events and tours.
The metaverse can provide incredible possibilities for companies, offering them new ways to attract, engage with and understand customers. The metaverse offers, for example, the ability to pull detailed reports on each user while respecting privacy and complying with applicable regulations. The metaverse can also engage and excite employees, connecting them for seamless workplace collaboration and fostering a greater, more inclusive sense of community.
This power to reimagine and expand experiences while bringing together employees and customers from around the world for virtual events that combine insights, collaboration and excitement is in the metaverse.
