Allan Buitendag is the Financial Services Consulting Leader in Canada for PwC.
Allan first joined PwC in 1999, and returned in 2006 to focus on building our insurance and financial services consulting practice. Over the past 15 years, Allan has assisted clients in large-scale transformation, cost reduction, cost-allocation approaches and methodologies, project management and governance, IT strategic planning and implementation, strategic sourcing and vendor management, process re-engineering, and outsourcing. He has consulted extensively with clients in the insurance and financial services sectors within Canada, the US and globally.
Allan is a frequent contributor to the PwC quarterly Insurance Review, including recent articles on claims transformation, key performance indicators and cost reduction for Canadian insurers. He has also published numerous white papers on vendor management, human capital management, and cost reduction.
Allan has presented to several insurers’ management groups on Canadian industry trends and issues as well as associations including the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association (CIAA), Ontario Mutual Insurance Association (OMIA) and the Centre for Outsourcing, Research and Education (CORE).
Allan graduated with a BA (Honours) from the University of Western Ontario, London, in 1994 and obtained his MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business. Allan is an avid tennis and hockey player. He lives in North Toronto with his wife, two daughters and son.
