Christian Bourque is a partner and leader of PwC's Quebec Deals Group and the managing partner for the Financial Advisory and Restructuring practice in the Province of Quebec.
Over the past 30 years, he has advised financial institutions and their corporate clients experiencing financial difficulties, as well as investors and corporations on transactions. He specializes in the following fields:
- Business advisor to investors and government institutions
- Development and implementation of financial restructuring plans
- Support in the identification and management of financial and operational risks
- Court appointed officer under restructuring laws, namely the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA) or the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).
- Interim manager or liquidator under specific statutes (Companies acts, consumer protection act, Régie du Bâtiment etc) or following court orders.
- Financial advisor to boards of directors and investors in public companies

- Transat A.T. : Financial advisor to the management team for the implementation of a strategic recovery plan and financial model.
- Nemaska Lithium – Financial Advisor to the Special Committee of the Board of Directors and Court Appointed Monitor for a restructuring under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (“CCAA”)
- Régie du bâtiment du Québec – Interim Administrator of the Qualité Habitation New Home Warranty Plan for the Régie du Bâtiment du Québec (RBQ)
- Office de la protection du consommateur – Interim Administrator of Vacances Sinorama Inc. for the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC)
- Le Groupe Capitales Médias – Court Appointed Interim Receiver at the request of IQ and the Ministère de l’Économie et de l’Innovation and Monitor under the CCAA
- Groupe Hexagone : Court Appointed Monitor under the CCAA. Liquidation and monetization of construction claims in excess of $100M
- Davie Shipyard Inc. - Financial Advisor to the Government of Quebec on a refinancing and the financing of ferry projects as well as on IQ’s interest in the Asterix supply ship project, worth close to $500 million
- Enerkem Inc. - Financial Advisor to the Government of Quebec on various rounds of refinancing and, more recently, on a $160 million interest in the Varennes plant project to convert waste into methanol and ethanol, worth close to $800M

Christian has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1988, a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals, a licensed trustee in insolvency since 1996 and a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada.
