Derek is a Deals Partner in the Capital Projects and Infrastructure practice, focusing on Energy Transition. Derek specializes in the execution of M&A advisory, equity and debt capital raising for utilities, renewable and clean power generation companies and assets.
Derek spent more than 16 years in the Power & Utilities sector as a lead advisor on several cross-border M&A utility acquisitions, renewable and thermal asset transactions and public and private equity and debt financings. Derek has provided coverage of all Canadian publicly traded utility and generation companies as well as infrastructure-focused private equity investors on strategic and valuation-centric matters.
Derek is a CPA and is also a PwC Alumni, previously working in our Toronto and Washington, VA offices within the Audit and Assurance practice. He holds undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Economics as well as a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo.
