Michel Charbonneau is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group. He recently joined the firm to support the Montreal office’s Accounting and Securities Advisory Group, a part of our National Risk and Quality Group, “R&Q”.
Michel brings with him technical expertise in Canadian GAAP, U.S. GAAP and International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRS) and Canadian and SEC regulatory requirements. Michel has worked on domestic and international assignments. He has consulted on and approved the financial content of public and private filing documents for Canadian, SEC and European listings and responded to technical matters for both clients and engagement teams on Canadian, IAS/IFRS and U.S. GAAP. Michel has experience with mainly large, public and private, multinational clients in a wide range of industries including telecommunications, manufacturing, consumer products, pharmaceuticals/biotech and professional services. He also has significant experience in business valuations and acquisitions and financial due diligence engagements, notably in ‘spin-off/carve-out environments.
In 1990 Michel earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with Distinction from Concordia University. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy with Honours from McGill University. Michel has been a member of the Quebec Order of Chartered Accountants since 1992.
