Tax Transformation Leader, PwC Canada

Vik is a Tax Partner specializing in Canadian corporate income tax and is PwC Canada’s Tax Transformation Leader. Vik is also part of PwC’s Tax Leadership Group.

For more than 25 years Vik has advised Canadian public companies, foreign-based multinationals and Canadian-based private companies on a variety of Canadian corporate income tax matters including corporate tax reorganizations, international tax planning strategies, tax technology solutions, tax provision computations, tax compliance requirements, SR&ED claims and other related tax issues. Vik also has significant experience in the areas of US and international expansion, tax treaties, cross-border planning and taxation of intellectual property. Vik’s industry experience is primarily with  technology, distribution and consumer products companies.

Vik joined PwC in 1991 after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1994 and joined the tax practice in 1995. Vik was promoted to partner in 2004 and has led a number of practice areas including the Emerging Companies Tax Practice, National SR&ED Tax Practice and Corporate Tax Compliance Practice. Vik was also the PwC Oakville office leader for 3 years. Vik was then asked to lead PwC Canada’s Tax Technology initiatives where he was responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of internal and external technology solutions for tax functions. Most recently, as tax leader of the Toronto office for the last 2.5 years, Vik was responsible for all facets of markets and operations of the GTA tax practice.

Vik is actively engaged in the Oakville community and serves on the boards of the Oakville Community Foundation and Appleby College.
