PwC Corporate Finance advises Mike & Mike’s on its sale to Fresh Direct Produce
PwC Corporate Finance* acted as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of Mike & Mike’s Inc. (“Mike & Mike’s” or the “Company”) on its sale to Fresh Direct Produce Ltd. (“Fresh Direct”), a portfolio company of Hammond, Kennedy, Whitney and Company, Inc. (“HKW”).
Founded in 2004, Mike & Mike’s is an Ontario based organic fruit and vegetable distribution, offering over 300 different items sourced from North America and internationally. The Company operates out of Woodbridge, Ontario and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies since 2015, achieving gold level status in 2018.
Fresh Direct Produce is one of Western Canada’s fresh produce importers, wholesalers, and marketers with three distribution centers, two in Vancouver and one in Calgary. Fresh Direct sources and imports more than 1,000 conventional and organic fruit and vegetable items from 35 countries.
HKW is a private equity firm investing in growth-oriented companies with management teams in the US and Canada. HKW targets small to mid-size companies in the Business Services and Health & Wellness sectors.
