Why did you decide to pursue a career in Deals?
I have a permanent aspiration to drive continuous change and make an impact: Thus, the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) business is just the right thing for me to do.
What do you attribute your success to?
- Strong analytical skills and an urge for fact-based decision making
- Pragmatic engineering mindset, and willingness to take calculable risks, ie. going with the best compromise first, and correct mistakes later
- Providing guidance to two younger brothers while I was a kid!
What is the best thing about working as a female in a profession traditionally dominated by males?
“You can become the first female on the moon.”
What is the best piece of advice you have been given about developing your career?
Believe in what you are doing and be prepared for competitive pressure.
What advice would you give to female students considering a career in Deals?
- Enjoy what you are doing, even through challenging times
- Build a strong and diverse network
- Always know who your male and female role models are and which attributes make them a role model for you
What have been some of your career highlights in Deals with PwC?
- The invitation to a national day reception of a foreign embassy for moderating two parties in a cross-border transaction
- Successful integration of two global pharmaceutical companies whilst securing the brand and accelerating its growth leveraging the “best of both worlds”
- Being contacted by C-Level clients for problem-solving and winning an engagement always feels rewarding!
