Maëlle Gomez, Senior Manager, PwC France

The Future Energy Leaders programme is a programme powered by the World Energy Council, and its programme consists of bringing together a community, a cross-industry of young experienced professionals, working in the energy sector.

Maëlle

My name is Maelle Gomez.  I’m a Senior Manager in Energy and Sustainable Infrastructure, based in Paris, France.

For the World Energy Congress, we are preparing a challenge which is called Shaping the Future of Energy. And this challenge is really about how you understand, or you envision the future of energy based on geopolitics, technology, what is a just and resilient transition, how do you deliver the COP28 pledges?

And these are real questions, right? And we think that, yes, engaging this young leader now to build tomorrow's future, is really what will basically deliver the change.

José Caceres Blundi, GE Vernova

I am José Caceres Blundi and I am a Global Future Energy Leader at the World Energy Council.

Energy transition is a multi-dimensional problem.

In order to collaborate, you need to have what we call this multi-stakeholder approach. And the idea is to switch from a more shareholder approach to a multi-stakeholder approach. And I think that the WEC provides this view, provides a safe space to actually have this multi-stakeholder approach.  And to actually understand that the problem that you tried to solve, it's only from one direction. You see it from only your direction. And the idea is to be confronted to the other visions of the others, to define the real problem to solve.

Damilola Adeyanju, Systems Programme Manager, Climate Group

I'm Damilola Adeyanju. I'm a Global Future Energy Leader of the World Energy Council.

What excites me is the fact that I think there's a lot of opportunities.  And not just only opportunities in technology, but the opportunities for the impact.

I think with the energy transition, it’s also going to be an opportunity for big shifts in the economy as well. There will be a lot of opportunities to change people's lives, to get people out of poverty, to get them in line with what the future of even skills mean.

Maëlle

I think being at the core, working on energy, I think now is the most passionate place, most interesting place to be.

Why? Because energy is the backbone of the world system. So without energy, we cannot do anything. So I think, working on that is saying, okay, maybe tomorrow isn’t certain, but I'm an architect of the change and I will really be, you know, able to drive and build a world in which I would like to live in.
