What workers want: adjusting to a new age of flexible working

The world of work has changed post pandemic, the demands of employees are different to before and organisations need to embrace this changing dynamic if they want to remain attractive to key talent.

On 8 February, we held our virtual briefing in which we shared findings from our new PwC report on changing employee demands and what Jersey and Guernsey businesses need to do to keep up and compete for talent.

Date: Wednesday 8 February 2023
Location: Virtual
Time: 10:30-11:30am

In this special one hour briefing, we examined why employees want and expect much greater flexibility than ever before. And for employers adjusting to this new world, we considered what a compelling employee 'value proposition' looks like, that offers flexibility, but not at the expense of the business being able to run effectively. We highlighted how offering more flexible working options can positively impact recruitment, retention, engagement, inclusion and wellbeing. We also featured a case study on the impact of our recent Four-Day Working Week pilot we ran during the summer in our CI offices, sharing our learnings and insights on this particular approach to flexible working.

Along with our panel of local PwC experts, we were delighted that Alastair Woods, Partner, PwC UK's People & Organisation practice & Reward Capability Leader for EMEA, joined us for the virtual session, providing a global context, highlighting some key findings from PwC's Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2022, and participating in the concluding Q&A session.
